Helen Woodward Animal Center presents its 4th Annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon on Sunday September 13, 2009.
This event will help raise awareness and money for orphaned pets while promoting responsible pet ownership. Whether you want to surf for animals on your own or with your best four legged friend, there will be heats for both.
Here's how it works:
Dog Surfers and Human Surfers raise money for animals by the number of waves they catch. Both, people and pups, are encouraged to get their friends and family to sponsor them with a pledge per wave(i.e. $1.00 per wave or $10.00 per wave). Surfers will estimate the number of waves they think they can catch so they can collect pledges prior to the Surf-A-Thon. They will raise money by the number of waves they catch in a half hour. The funds raised will be used to support all the programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center.
