Teddy and I have been working with Bill the last few days and what comes to the forefront of our discussions is that I could use training as much as my dog. We are busy and loose the consistency necessary to successfully guide our dogs in the right direction and Bill reminded me how much common sense and logic come into play. I would take Bill up on his request for questions and we are lucky to have him as a member of our online community. Steve Goldberg CEO Muttropolis
These are ust a few behaviors dogs will display that represent a dominant behavior, look over them and if this closely looks like your dog, you may have a problem related to "team management":
• Sleeping in bed with the owner
• Pushing you to pet him
• Not allowing the husband or wife into the bedroom after being gone on a trip
• Growling near food or toys
• Not allowing you to take toys away by showing aggression (not just playing keep away)
• Always going through doors first
• Always going down stairs first
• Running from window to window or door to door checking sounds and sights
• Running down or up stairs
• Being extremely dog aggressive
• Resisting laying down when asked to DOWN
• Showing aggression to certain family friends and not others
There are remedial techniques that can adress this... Bill "The Canine Arbitrator"
