Which nice, reasonably priced hotels in LA are pet friendly & allow dogs up to 50lbs?

I am looking for a nice, well-rated pet-friendly hotel(s) suggestions in the LA / Santa Monica / Hollywood areas that allow dogs up to 50 lbs? A boutique hotel of some kind would be preferable. Any ideas out there? Thanks so 'mutts!'

Well, first, I have to say that "nice" and "pet-friendly" hotels don't often go together. There are places you can stay with pets. Most La Quintas, Best Westerns and I believe Motel 6's allow pets (some add a fee, some don't).

But remember, places that allow pets usually means that you have a broad spectrum of pets and pet owners. Meaning that some are more likely to pee or poop indoors than others. Which is generally why you won't see Four Seasons advertising itself as pet friendly. But some nice hotels do allow pets, just be prepared to pay a premium.

Here's a site that may help you:

Hi Laura & Nibbler - Thanks for the info! We did recently stay at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara and they had some really cool in-room amenities for the doggies, including dog beds with treats, bowls and "spa spritzers."

The Loews in Santa Monica was also really accommodating, tho' it was not easy finding a convenient "restroom" for the kids...I think we resorted to some ivy in the median strip in the entry roundabout ; - o

Thanks and we'll keep looking!

Hey it's Jenny from Fashion Island! I know that the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in Santa Monica allows dogs of all sizes. They have a nice grass area around the bugalows and you can walk to 3rd Street Promenade from there where there are always plenty of pups walking around. Also in Beverly Hills, the Raffles L'Ermitage allows dogs. Lola has enjoyed staying there before and has met some furry friends :) Hope this helps!

You say boutique, so I gather that means fru fru==Casa del Mar, in S. M. is great. Have to call and get permission. It's that kind of place. Less fru fru is Lowe's. They all take dogs. It's car from fancy, but the top floors have great, big balconies to hang out on with the dogs, and the beach is right across the street. Dog park==not too far, in Venice. Google hotels. Good luck. Hi Zazou,

I run a little bed and breakfast for dogs out of my home. I usually only have one family's pet/s at a time. I have no weight limit as long as the dog is well mannered and behaved. They are treated like the little prince or princess they are. They have full run of the house, yard, and whatever you allow. I treat them as part of the family. It is a very one on one experience where the dog gets all my time and attention, is walked daily if s/he doesn't pull, played with, TLC, etc.

I am in Anaheim Hills, which is a bit further than you're preference, but I have had people come from West LA, and Simi Valley to get all the freedom without cages, kennels, or crates. If interested, you can check out my website at bandb4dogs.com. I charge $50 for overnights for one dog.
