I had my Shorty for 15 years. In January 2008 he was just to sick and feeble to make him suffer so I made that decision every dog parent dreads. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I know that I was blessed to have him that long, there are so many that aren't around for such a long time. We went through a lot together. Moving to Italy, Virginia and Tennessee, a divorce and a remarriage. He was my best friend and I miss him dearly.

Venna was hit by a car on September 13th 2007. She died right in our yard. I know now that Venna is in a much better place now. All I want to say is that Venna I love you more then words can express and seeing you that night was the worse thing I've ever saw, but at least I got to say goodbye. I'll NEVER forget your sweet face and how it always seemed like you had a smile on your face, You weren't just some dog you were part of my family. Rest In Peace sweetheart.

I lost my dog Snoop pictured above about 3 years go..he was attacked by my brother pitbull. He survived for a week but eventually sucuumed by his injuries to his neck. We were so devasted especially my dad he was extremely attached to him. They would always play games with each other. He loved everyone that came into his life. He was very sweet and VERY SMART dog!! he was like Einstein. My dad was never the same after he passed & became very depressed...life was too hard with his Snoop so he the heavens above took him to be with Snoop.. We miss you & love you both!!

I lost Doobie (on the right) almost one year ago after 8 long months of surviving a pitbull attack which cost him his front leg and a couple of months after the amputation he lost control of his his back legs and was showing severe neurological distress. Throughout all the surgeries he was the happiest strongest unaffected dog who just loved life, not matter what happened to him. He was only 71/2 and he was my best friend. I rescued him when he was 4. He will always be my first great greyhound and he is with me everyday. It was the most painful experience of my life. It took a couple of months before I decided to foster (NOT ADOPT) another greyhound since I decided that I was still grieving but wanted to do something for the cause, 2 weeks later I adopted this timid, skinny, sickly grey (now named Max), 5 months later, I have a solid (even fat for a greyhound), healthy, happy, smart, loving dog who has taken away the pain and the void that Doobie's death left behind.

May 18th 2008 Roxy was put to sleep. Her back went out for the third time and she was also bleeing internally. The best thing to do was to make her go to sleep. She had no use of her legs and she was just in pain. We will miss you so much and so will you're best friend Sparky.

You are in a much better place now Roxy!!! We all love you so much!

Zoltan & Sepia Comment by Zoltan & Sepia on June 20, 2008 at 1:19pm
My Vizsla brother Zoltan, who is also a fellow Muttropolis co-founder & board member, has just passed on after living a wonderful, fun-filled 14-year life. The good news is that he and I are now reunited up here in this fabulous dog park in the sky. We miss our parents and the Schmoo and we sprinkle our fairy dust on them daily and know they miss us too. Sniff you later!

my and porter's best friend and companion left us one year ago . porter had just joined our family and already had bonded to his big bro. Joli Blound , was just 13, and had fought a galant battle with valley fever for almost 3 years. strong and happy world traveler, his spirit and heart gave us courage to let him pass to the rainbow bridge to join our other loved and sadly missed pets. everytime i see a rainbow, i know he is there happy running in the grass and waiting. love you sweetie, miss you everyday.

My best friend Buddy passed on April 18th 2008 after a four month battle with a nasal tumor. Buddy was a regular at the Muttropolis in Tucson, AZ and has many friends there. Buddy moved many times with me in his 13 years. He was always a good sport and just wanted to be wherever I was. I still miss going on walks to Muttropolis with him. He would bark at the girls when we got there and let them know that it was "treat time." I was very lucky to have Buddy with me for the time he was here in body, and I will always cary him with me in spirit. I will miss your sence of humor Buddy. You were definately one of a kind.
I love you very much my dear friend. Rest in peace.

Pongo 1998-2008

Molly's best doggie friend Pongo, a dalmatian from Seattle, was another shelter rescue. They spent almost every day together until we moved to Colorado last year.

Pongo left us this last Saturday (June 14, 2008) after battling from several different health issues. We miss him terribly, but know he is in a better place free of suffering. I still see him running around the dog park, getting excited to get a treat and getting comfortable in whatever room we happen to be in. He was full of expression and unconditional love.

We miss you buddy and will always love you!
