Is there is a Good Medical Site (WebMD-like) for Dogs?

My 12 year old Lab has something and we're not sure what. We went to the Vet today but aren't convinced the diagnosis was correct. He's got raw skin all over his body and it just started within the last week but exacerbates by the hour I swear. His elbows are raw and bleeding, his pelvis is raw, covered in pus, foot pads cracked and bleeding, nose and ears cracked, crusty and beeding and he can barely walk - like his arthritus just kicked in beyond repair. I'm planning to take him to another vet tomorrow but I want to research anything I can myself. It's breaking my heart to see him sufffer. If you know of any web sites that I can look at, please share!

Tanya,
Wellness wished to your dear companion!
My little pitbox gal came down with Valley Fever last month, and while the symptoms are NOT the same, I did a LOT of research and one thing that I am thinking of is that Olive Leaf extract (sold at the health food store, or at a store like Sprouts) is a natural anti-fungal and is used to treat such fungal infections as candida and the like. I started using it for the VF and can not complain - I even got my vets approval first! In addition, because Brin is and has been on harsh meds, I am giving her Milk Thistle to help support her liver. Also - Omega 3s in Salmon oil ...... In addition, - I changed her diet to the CORE brand made by Wellness - she prefers Fish - and it is grain free. I can't complain a bit about that either!
Much luck to you in finding what you need to treat your pal!

I don't have much time now, but all I can tell you is look at thepetwhisperer.com. He's brilliant. Cares so much about animals. We see him in San Diego for our dogs. One has cancer, and the other, behavioral problems. Baby's tumor has gone down. Check it out. Glad your pooch is better. Good luck. Laura

Very cool - I will check it out. Mokie is doing better but there is always a need for resources like this (especially with an old dog) so thank you!

Thanks for this! I am actually in Boise, Idaho but I have a great Vet! Mokie is on the upswing. He is so much better - not all better - but able to enjoy life again for what he has left.
